John Walker Wise River 2012

ギブソンのカスタムショップで働き、モンタナ工場を立ち上げたジョン・ウォーカーは2005年より同じモンタナ州で自身の工房を立ち上げ、ビンテージギブソンを再現したギターを作り続けています。

こちらのギターは1942年のJ-35を再現したWise Riverモデルで、アディロンダック・レッド・スプルースのトップ、フィギュアードが入ったマホガニーのサイドバックのギターです。ロングサドルのレクタンギュラーブリッジ、クルーソンスタイルの3連オープンギアチューナー、ニカワ接着、スキャロップドXブレーシングなどの仕様です。

全体的に目立った傷は見当たらず、修復歴もありません。ネックヒールにストラップピンの装着があります。またエンドピンは12mmに広げられています。現在ピックアップは装着されていません。

ネックの状態は正常で、弦高は12フレット位置で6弦2.5mm、1弦2.0mmと標準的なセッティングです。サドルにも余裕があります。またフレットにも目立った磨耗はありません。

見た目だけでなく、サウンドもビンテージギブソンを再現したような、唸るような低音とシャキっとした高音でストロークで弾くと気持ちが良いです。またフィンガーピッキングや小さな音でも滑らかで豊かな響きです。

John Walker, who worked in Gibson's custom shop and started the Montana factory, has had his own workshop in the same state of Montana since 2005. He is a one-man operation that makes guitars that replicate vintage Gibsons.

This guitar is a Wise River model, a reproduction of a 1942 J-35, with an Adirondack red spruce top and figured mahogany side backs. It has a long-saddle rectangular bridge, Kluson-style triple open-gear tuners, Hide Glue, and scalloped X bracing.

Overall, there are no noticeable scratches and no restorations. There is a strap pin attached to the neck heel. Also, the endpin has been widened to 12mm. No pickups are currently installed.

The neck is in good condition and the string height is 2.5mm on the 6th string and 2.0mm on the 1st string at the 12th fret, which is a standard setting. There is plenty of room in the saddle. There is also no noticeable wear on the frets.

Not only does it look good, but it also sounds like a vintage Gibson, with a snarling bass and crisp high notes that are pleasant to play on strokes. It also sounds smooth and rich with finger picking and small notes.

Comes with a solid hard case made by Boblen.
