Atkin Guitarsは1995年にイギリスのカンタベリーで設立された新しいメーカーで、現在もカンタベリーに拠点を置き、7人体制で年間350本のギターをハンドメイドで製作しているそうです。プロのミュージシャンにも人気があり、アイルランドの至宝クリスティ・ムーアも使っているそうです。個人的には初期にフェアグラウンドアトラクションのエディ・リーダーや、あのシニード・オコーナーが使っていた、というのが大きなトピックスです。

このD37はagedという特徴的なビンテージ加工がされていて、とても新しいギターには見えません。ボディの塗装、ペグなどの金具に至るまで経年感を出していて手が込んでいます。見た目だけでなく、その音もまさにビンテージのドレッドノート、しかも機能的には新品という夢のようなギターです。低音が豊かでアタックが強く、ストローク、カッティングが気持ち良いです。

まだ新しいので状態は良く、特に気になる傷などもありません。あまり弾き込まれておらずフレットも減っていません。弦高は6弦2.5mm、1弦2.0mm、サドルの余裕もあります。

This D37 has a characteristic vintage processing called "aged", so it doesn't look like a very new guitar. The paint on the body and metal fittings such as pegs are intricate to give a sense of age. It's a dream guitar that not only looks but sounds like a vintage dreadnought and is functionally brand new. The bass is rich, the attack is strong, and the stroke and cutting feel good.

It's still new, so it's in good condition, and there are no scratches to worry about. It has not been played much and the frets have not decreased. The string height is 2.5mm for the 6th string, 2.0mm for the 1st string, and there is plenty of room for the saddle.
