Martin D-18VM 1997

1997年製のD-18VM、Vintage Seriesです。

1960年代前半のD-18をイメージしたモディファイが試みられており、クルーソンのチューナーが設置された幅の狭いヘッドストックに加工、もしくは交換されているようです。またボディ内部のサイド板裏側には割れ止めが増設されており、その部分は少し雑な作業のため接着材の跡が残っています。ブリッジはオリジナルですが再接着補修がされており、ロングサドルは牛骨製に交換されています。

全体にウェザーチェック、細かな傷や打痕はありますが、材の割れやそれに伴う修復歴などは見当たりません。ネックヒールキャップ部分にストラップピンが装着されています。

ネックアングルは良好で、12フレット位置での弦高は6弦2.5mm、1弦2.0mmとなっており、サドルの高さも十分余裕があります。

中低音の倍音が強く、見た目だけでなく、サウンドもビンテージの味を実現しています。

This is a 1997 D-18VM from the Vintage Series.

It appears to have been modified to resemble an early 1960s D-18, with the headstock narrowed and either replaced to accommodate Kluson tuners. Additionally, anti-crack reinforcement has been added to the underside of the inner side panels; however, the work in that area is somewhat rough, leaving traces of adhesive. The bridge is original but has been re-glued, and the long saddle has been replaced with one made of cow bone.

There is weather checking and minor scratches and dents throughout, but no cracks in the wood or signs of prior repairs are visible. A strap pin is attached to the neck heel cap.

The neck angle is good, with string action at the 12th fret measuring 2.5 mm on the 6th string and 2.0 mm on the 1st string; there is also ample clearance at the saddle.

The low-to-midrange harmonics are pronounced, delivering a vintage sound that matches its vintage appearance.

It comes with a genuine Martin hard case.
