Peter Benson Parlor around 1910's

ピーター・ベンソンは1891年にミネソタ州セントポールで『ミュージカル・マーチャンダイズ・カンパニー』という楽器店を開業し、1899年まで弦楽器製作者として活動していたそうです。

このギターは、スプルース・トップ、ハカランダ・サイド/バック、エボニー指板、エボニーブリッジ、630mmスケール、ラダーブレーシングといった仕様です。ヘッドストック、指板、ブリッジには美しいインレイが施されています。トップのバインディング、サウンドホールのロゼッタの組紐模様も綺麗です。

右側サイドのロウワーバウト付近にぶつけたような10センチ程度の割れの補修跡がありますが、現在は安定しています。また以前ピックアップが装着されており、エンドピンの穴が拡張されています。それ以外には大きな傷、打痕や補修歴など無く、オリジナルに近い状態が保たれています。

ネックはわずかに順反りしており、弦高は12フレット位置で6弦2.8mm、1弦2.6mm程度となっています。サドルには2mm程度の高さがあります。

柔らかいタッチで、奥行きのあるサウンドです。

Peter Benson reportedly opened a musical instrument store called the “Musical Merchandise Company” in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1891, and worked as a stringed instrument maker until 1899.

This guitar features a spruce top, rosewood sides and back, an ebony fingerboard, an ebony bridge, a 630mm scale length, and ladder bracing. The headstock, fingerboard, and bridge feature beautiful inlays. The binding on the top and the braided pattern of the soundhole rosette are also exquisite.

There is a repair mark from a crack approximately 10 centimeters long, likely caused by an impact, near the lower bout on the right side; however, it is currently stable. Additionally, a pickup was previously installed, and the endpin hole has been enlarged. Other than that, there are no major scratches, dents, or repair history, and the guitar is in a condition close to its original state.

The neck has a slight forward bow, and the string action at the 12th fret is approximately 2.8mm on the 6th string and 2.6mm on the 1st string. The saddle has a height of about 2mm.

It has a soft touch and a sound with depth.
