Thompson T1 1998

カナダのルシアー、エドワード(テッド)・トンプソンのギターです。彼は残念なことに、昨年2023年5月に亡くなったとのことです。カナダ、ブリティシュコロンビア州のバーノンにて、45年のキャリアの中で1000本以上のギターを制作したそうです。1995年、彼のギターは並いる大手ブランドが参加する北米ギターの国際審査にて、マーチンと並んで同率一位を獲得するというエピソードがあるそうです。

このモデルT1は、シトカスプルーストップ、インディアンローズウッドのバックサイドのコンサートサイズです。

全体的に傷も少なく、大きな補修跡も見当たりません。ネック裏に補修跡のようなものが見えますが塗装も含めて全く違和感のない状態です。

ネックの状態は正常で、弦高は12フレット位置で6弦1.5mm、1弦1.0mmとなっています。

静謐で美しい音色で、演奏に繊細に反応し、フィンガーピッキングの弱いタッチでも豊かな表現が可能です。

純正かどうか、不明ですがハードケースが付属します。

This is the guitar of Canadian luthier Edward (Ted) Thompson.

He unfortunately passed away last year in May 2023. He made more than 1,000 guitars during his 45-year career in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada.

In 1995, his guitar was tied with Martin for first place in an international North American guitar competition in which all the major brands were represented.

This model T1 is a concert size guitar with a Sitka spruce top and Indian rosewood back&side.

Overall, there are few scratches and no major repair marks. There is what looks like a repair mark on the back of the neck, but it is not at all uncomfortable, including the paint.

The neck is in good condition and the string height is 1.5mm on the 6th string and 1.0mm on the 1st string at the 12th fret.

The tone is tranquil and beautiful, responding delicately to playing, and richly expressive even with a weak fingerpicking touch.

A hard case is included, though it is unknown if it is genuine or not.
