Gurian JM 1980

ガリアンはMichael Gurian氏が立ち上げたアメリカのアコースティックギターブランドです。

1979年にニューハンプシャー州のヒンズデール工場が火事で消失した後、1980年に同州ウェストスワンジーに再建した工場で作られたギターです。しかし1982年には経済的な理由により閉鎖されたため、ガリアンのギターとしては最終期のものです。

独特の丸みを帯びたジャンボサイズのボディに、トップはスプルース、サイドバックはマホガニーという組み合わせです。41mmの細めのナット幅で、握りやすいかまぼこ型のネックです。

細かな打痕や傷、ウェザーチェックはありますが、材の割れやそれに伴う補修歴などは見当たりません。ピックアップやストラップピンの装着歴もありません。

フレットの1弦、2弦の5フレットあたりまで摩耗による凹みがありますが、現時点で演奏に支障はありません。

ネックの状態も問題なく、弦高は12フレット位置で6弦1.8mm、1弦1.3mm程度の低めのセッティングです。

マホガニーらしいクリスピーな感触ながら低音もしっかりとあり、バランスのとれたサウンドです。

Gurian is an American acoustic guitar brand founded by Michael Gurian.

After the Hinsdale, New Hampshire factory was destroyed by fire in 1979, this guitar was made in a factory that was rebuilt in West Swanzey, New Hampshire in 1980. However, the factory closed for economic reasons in 1982, so this is the last period for Gurian guitars.

The jumbo size body has a unique rounded shape with spruce top and mahogany side backs. 41mm narrow nut width and easy-to-grip thickness neck.

There are some minor dents, scratches, and weather checks, but there are no cracks or repairs. No pickups or strap pins have been installed.

The frets are worn down to the 5th fret on the first and second strings, but this does not interfere with playing at this time.

The neck is in good condition, and the string height is about 1.8mm on the 6th string and 1.3mm on the 1st string at the 12th fret.

The sound is well-balanced, with a crisp mahogany feel and a solid bass.
